The Strength, Mobility, and Confidence to Keep Doing What You Love for Decades.

Designed entirely around you and your goals — by a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

"I went from being limited in how much I could walk and wearing insoles everywhere — to being able to sprint in barefoot shoes. Our work has been truly transformational."

— Jelena

"My workouts make me feel like me. I don't want to give them up."

A client said that to me on our first call.

She wasn't talking about exercise.

She was talking about the early mornings where she could go for a long walk and just breathe. The strength she'd built that she didn't want to watch slip. The vision of herself being strong and independent at 80.

The life she wanted to lead.

Most strength and rehab advice for active people misses this entirely. It treats your workouts as optional. Until slowly, you've built a life around your injury instead of around the life you want to lead.

Catalyst Private Coaching exists to protect that — and to keep building it, for as long as you want it.

If the stakes are high — whether you're trying to reclaim long walks, training for a race, or guarding the movement that keeps you sane — you're in the right place.

Tired of Being Told What You Can't Do Anymore?

Most strength and rehab advice is built around what your body supposedly can't handle anymore. The verdicts come from everywhere — and they accumulate.

  • "Stop running. Try biking."
  • "You shouldn't be lifting that heavy at your age."
  • "Your hip pain is just how it is now."
  • "Switch to low-impact."

These aren't strategies. They're band-aids — from sources who haven't kept up with the research, don't know your sport, or aren't able to build a comprehensive long-term plan to help you reach our goals.

I read the research. I push back on the myths. I spend the time it takes to figure out what's actually going on with your body — so the answer is how to keep doing what you love, not give it up.

Who This Is For This Is For You If Any of These Sound Like You

  • You're training for something specificA race, a qualifying standard, a goal that matters to you and you need programming built around your body, not a generic plan that might cost you the chance.
  • You're returning from injury or chronic limitationYou've been told to back off, slow down, or accept it. You're not ready to give up what you love.
  • You're investing in long-term capabilityYou want to be running, lifting, and moving the way you want to in your 70s and 80s and you want to build that body intentionally now.
  • You're managing complexityMultiple training demands, a unique medical history, age-specific physiology. Generic plans haven't worked, and the stakes are too high for guessing.
  • You want one-to-one strategic guidanceFor your strength, mobility, and longevity work with a Doctor of Physical Therapy who treats your situation with the care it deserves.

You don't need to check every box. You just need one of these to feel true.

Why Work With Me The Clinician Behind Your Plan

I do this work for one reason: I've seen too many people told to give up the things they love. By doctors. By trainers. By generic programs that weren't built for them. I built my practice to be the opposite of that — a place where the answer is "let's figure out what's actually going on" instead of "this is just how it is."

I'm Dr. Chelsea Matthews, a Doctor of Physical Therapy with 11 years of clinical experience.

In my online coaching practice, I work with people across every level - from runners preparing for Olympic-qualifying-level competition, to women returning to long walks and hiking after years of struggling with injury, to people in their 80s running their first 5Ks.

I've consulted for professional sports organizations on training, rehabilitation and injury prevention. My rehabilitation protocols have been requested for use in facilities training Olympic medalists to educate physical therapists on how to best rehabilitate injuries when the stakes are high.

My specialty: figuring out how to protect the active lifestyle you want and need in your life.

I've been called the movement detective, the problem-solving witch, and the magician — more than once.

Real Outcomes What's Possible When Someone Finally Builds It Around You

"Multiple people told me running was not for me and that I should try biking instead. With Chelsea, I went from not being able to run at all to running several times a week. The exercises are so targeted to my specific problems and needs — I never would have been able to put together this program on my own."

— Kelsey

"I've gone from feeling so discouraged, fragile, and afraid of seriously injuring myself — to feeling strong, empowered, and hopeful that I will regain my strength and even get better."

— Lindsay

Common Questions Frequently Asked

Do I need to be an athlete to work with you?

No. I work with people at every level — from chronic limitation recovery to first races to Olympic qualification. What Catalyst Private Coaching has in common across all those levels is that the coaching is fully personal, not templated.

How often do we meet?

Most clients meet with me 1-2 times per month. The exact cadence depends on your goals and what we determine in our initial call.

What if I'm not in pain or training for a race? What if my goal is longevity?

Some of my most rewarding work is with people who aren't injured or racing - they're investing in their long-term capability. Strong bones, resilient tendons, real power, and the kind of physical confidence that lets you still be doing what you love at 75 or 85. Catalyst Private Coaching is built for that kind of intentional, long-term work just as much as it's built for performance and rehab.

Where are you located?

I'm based between Nashville and Lyon, France.
